Eligibility :
Open to legal residents of the U.S., except residents of Puerto Rico and U.S. Territories, who are 21 years of age or older on date of entry and have online access before September 29, 2008. Employees of The Weather Channel, Inc. (“Sponsor”), GameSafe, Inc., Crew Creative and their parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees and agents (”Sponsor and its agents”) and members of the immediate family of each (defined as spouse, children, parents, in-laws, siblings and/or members of a same household) are not eligible.

Timing :
Sweepstakes entry period starts at 12:00:01 AM ET on September 29, 2008, and ends at NOON ET on November 26, 2008

How to enter:
Log on to www.weather.com/history, then complete and submit the electronic entry form. In order for electronic entries to be valid, entrants must click the “Submit” button. Internet entries must be received by NOON ET on November 26, 2008. Incomplete or ineligible entries are void. Sponsor is not responsible for malfunctions of electronic equipment, computer hardware or software, or lost, late, incomplete, garbled or misdirected entries. Sponsor is not responsible for problems downloading entries from the web site or for any other technical problems related to online entries. Sponsor is not responsible for any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Sweepstakes.

Prize (s):
Grand Prize (ten (10) winners): Trip for each winner and one (1) guest to New Orleans, Louisiana April 23-29, 2009. Trip includes round-trip coach airfare for winner and one guest from a major airport near winner’s residence to New Orleans, LA, lodging for six (6) nights (double occupancy accommodations selected by Sponsor, subject to availability and restrictions), two admissions to the Jazz Festival black-tie Gala, Jazz Festival Gala passes valid during trip, two admissions to The National World War II Museum and $500. OR, if winner is unable to travel on specific dates, a 6-night trip may be taken to New Orleans during 2009 (including round-trip coach airfare for winner and one guest from a major airport near winner’s residence to New Orleans, LA, lodging for six (6) nights (double occupancy accommodations selected by Sponsor, subject to availability and restrictions) and $500). The Weather Channel - Forecast Earth Summit

Eligibility :
Open to legal residents of the 48 continental United States and the District of Columbia, who are or will be at least 14 years of age at the date of entry but no older than 17 years of age as of October 19, 2008, and who will be enrolled in good standing full-time in a public or state accredited private, parochial or home school in grades 9-11 as of October 19, 2008 (Sponsor reserves the right to contact the entrant’s school to confirm enrollment and good standing).  Entrants must have no criminal record. Entrants must have the permission of at least one (1) of their parents or legal guardians to enter.  If selected as a Finalist, the entrant must be available for phone interviews between October 27, 2008 and November 6, 2008.  Entrants must be willing to travel to Washington, D.C. with a parent or legal guardian (at Sponsor’s expense) on December 5, 2008 and participate as a delegate in the 2008 Forecast Earth Summit from December 5-7, 2008.  When the selected delegates travel to Washington, D.C., they will participate in daily activities and panel discussions relating to environmental literacy in high schools. At all times when the delegates are in Washington, D.C., the delegates will be subject to the instructions, directives, and schedules dictated by Sponsor.

Timing :
Contest begins April 17, 2008, 12:00:01 AM (EST) and ends October 19, 2008, 11:59:59 PM (EST) (“Contest Period”).

How to enter:
Each Contestant must submit an essay describing the entrant’s love for the Planet and what the entrant has done to keep it clean and green.  Entry must be a previously unpublished, original, first person account with ownership rights held solely by the contestant.  Entry must not be previously committed to publication in any medium.  Submit your typed essay, photograph and entry form electronically online. Essays must be submitted in English and are limited to 200 words.  Any entry, in the opinion of the judges or Sponsor, found to be fraudulent, to infringe upon existing rights of others, to be incomplete, damaged, obscene, vulgar, offensive or otherwise unsuitable for print, radio or television will be disqualified.  Any plagiarism and/or failure to properly identify non-original material by an entrant will result in such entrant’s disqualification.  Essays containing quotations or copyrighted materials which are not properly identified will also be disqualified.

Log on to www.forecastearthsummit.org, complete the entry form in English and in its entirety (including the essay fill-in and photo attachment areas) and electronically submit the entry form during the Contest Period.

Prize (s):
Not less than Twenty (20) but not more than Twenty-Five (25) Winners will each receive a three (3) day, two (2) night trip for two (2) to Washington, DC tentatively scheduled to take place from December 5-7, 2008 (the “Trip”). The Trip includes: (i) hotel accommodations (one (1) standard room, double occupancy), including room taxes, for two (2) nights at a hotel in Washington DC (the “Hotel”) (to be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion), (ii) round-trip, coach class air transportation (including taxes) to Washington DC for each Winner and his/her travel companion from the U.S. gateway airport nearest each Winner’s residence (as determined by Sponsor), (iii) ground transportation between the airport in Washington DC and the Hotel, (iv) Welcome Dinner with all Winners on December 5, 2008, (v) breakfast, lunch and dinner with all Winners on December 6, 2008, (vi) breakfast and lunch with all Winners on December 7, 2008, and (vii) a gift bag from The Weather Channel. If any Winner resides within a One Hundred (100) mile radius of Washington DC, ground transportation may be provided in lieu of air transportation and no compensation or substitution will be provided for difference in prize value.

The Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of each Prize award is $2,200.00, but may vary depending upon the cost of airfare for the winner.
