I’m entering the “Philips Sonicare FREE Dental Care For Life Sweepstakes” because I’ve watched my mother struggle with periodontal disease for years and now that I’ve just crossed the threshold to 50 myself, my dentist is telling me all my fillings I got as a child are wearing out and I need an unbelievable about of dental work. My gums are becoming sensitive and I’d LOVE to have free dental care for life because the dental work is so expensive, I’d never be able to have it all done…and still make house payments. Upon having my Dental Hygenist show and tell me about the Sonicare FlexCare Toothbrush, I was sold on it. She gave me a pamplet/flyer describing the product along with a coupon. I learnt how expensive this product is. I wasn’t able to purchase it right away because of having to pay for a crown that my insurance did not cover. I’ve been back for my 6 month dental cleaning. And I still haven’t been able to purchase this toothbrush. It is on my Christmas wish list. That is all I am asking for. I want to have healthier teeth/gums, when I go back for my 6 month check-up/cleaning in June of 2010.

I think this sweepstakes is a great way to encourage people to take care of their teeth and their gums. Many people do not realize the importance of oral hygiene and how it effects a their other body systems. Decay and abcess can create a potential for life threatening conditions if the infection gets into the bloodstream. With economic conditions as they are, this sweepstakes sends the message of the importance of dental care. I also would love to win this sweepstakes and not have my family worry about taking turns going to th dentist. As parents we tend to send our children before ourselves when money is tight.
